Isaiah 61-62

Isaiah 61-62

Chapter 61: In the Last Days, God will restore His Church

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me. He will preach good tidings to the poor, and proclaim liberty to the captives, and comfort those who mourn. Ruined cities will be rebuilt, and shame will replace honor. The covenant will endure for future generations, and be famous among the gentiles. He is clothed in the garment of salvation, and the robe of righteousness.

“…righteousness and praise… [will] …spring forth before all the nations.” (Isaiah 61:11)
this righteousness that will spring forth will be the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the coming forth of the Book of Mormon in the Latter-days.

Chapter 62: Lifting the Gospel Standard

Zion’s righteousness shall go forth as brightness. The gentiles shall witness its glory. The Lord loves Zion as a bridegroom loves a bride, and will protect it against enemies. Build the highway for the Lord! Zion shall be populated with those who are Redeemed of the Lord.
