Day 11;2 Nephi 20-23
I am tackling the Book of Mormon in 60 days. My plan is to have the Book of Mormon studied by the end of 2011. During my challenge, I will post a daily blog of my reading, in this blog I will share with you... my thoughts, feelings, opinions and knowledge about the Book of Mormon. Do you have questions? Comments? Please... lets start a discussion. I would be more than happy to answer your questions, comments or concerns!

Scripture Thought (What I Learned):
Summary of 2 Nephi 20-23: These 4 chapters can be compared to Isaiah 10-13. They talk about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and some of the destruction that will occur when He comes.
Chapter 20: The destruction of the people of Assyria is like a destruction of the wicked in the second coming of Jesus Christ. Very few people will be around after the Lord's second coming.
Chapter 21: In the last days (the Millennium), the knowledge of the Lord will flood the earth and animals of all kinds will lie down next to each other and not harm one another "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb and the leopard shall lie down with the kid, and the calf and the young lion and fatling together..." (2 Nephi 21:6)
Chapter 22: During the millennial reign, all men shall praise the Lord and exalt his name. "Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion; for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee." (2 Nephi 22:6)
Chapter 23: The destruction of Babylon is like the destruction that will occur during the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. In the last days the "...stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light; the sun shall be darkened in his going forth and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. And I will punish the world for evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay down the haughtiness of the terrible." (2 Nephi 23:10-11), it also says that the earth shall "...remove out of her place..." (2 Nephi 23:13), which is very interesting because earthquakes like that of Chile and Japan, among others have reportedly been pushing the earth off of its axis, example: http://www.nasa.gov/topics/earth/features/earth-20100301.html.
