Scripture Thought (What I Learned):
So this scripture talked a lot about the importance of feeling and following the commandments of God. A few verses that really stood out to me was… 1 Nephi 6:5 “Wherefore, the things which are pleasing unto the world I do not write, but the things which are pleasing unto God and unto those who are not of the world” – this really stood out to me, because a lot of times we are worried about what the world thinks, or we take too much time to make sure that what we say and do is ‘politically correct’. We do not need to listen to the world or be fearful of the world, but only of God. This is why Nephi was not concerned with writing others things.
1 Nephi 6:12 “Yea, and how is it that ye have forgotten that the Lord is able to do all things according to his will, for the children of men, if it so be that they exercise faith in him? Wherefore, let us be faithful to him.” – This is super important because we easily can forget about the power that God has to help us out, if we just ask for his help.
1 Nephi 9:5 “Wherefore, the Lord hath commanded me to make these plates for a wise purpose in him, which purpose I know not” – This reminded me that God has his ways and that his ways are always wise, even if we do not know what that purpose might be.
